About Us

Dawn Becker and Bill Cizinski are the two key principals of Innovative Flooring Design. While working together for over 15 years leading large builder-market flooring operations, and enjoying the benefits of the 10 year building boom, we unexpectedly found ourselves in unchartered waters.

Full scale layoffs and store closings became commonplace in our industry. Attrition was inevitable within the marketplace. There were too many flooring retailers. The pretenders fell one by one and the survivors were doing everything they could to just hang on. Employment opportunities for seasoned veterans like us just weren’t there.

When this attrition opened an opportunity in the Lake Minnetonka / Wayzata area, we agreed it was the perfect time and place to open OUR new concept endeavor.

For the last 28 years, Dawn has developed an extensive knowledge of flooring and design elements. Building strong relationships with designers, builders and homeowners, Dawn has left her design touch on many distinctive homes in the Twin Cities.

For the last 34 years, Bill has been in floorcovering sales and management. Bill’s experience is in leading strong sales organizations, pricing negotiation with flooring manufacturers, on-site estimating and supervision of industry leading professional installation teams.

Combining Bill’s experience with Dawn’s strong sales and design skills positions Innovative Flooring Design with the Twin Cities most experienced flooring retailers.
